We’re also the wholesaler and retailer of every line we carry, buying directly from the manufacturer and selling direct to you, so there’s no distributor markup sitting between the factory and your kitchen. When you buy cabinets from us, the same company measures your space, helps you choose the line and layout, and sends the licensed crew that installs it. What actually drives your cabinet cost
Cabinets are usually 35–45% of a full kitchen remodel budget. Once quotes come in, most homeowners end up comparing them by cost per linear foot — a standard 10×10 kitchen is a useful benchmark for comparing bids apples to apples. Here’s what moves the price.
- Cabinet type — RTA < semi-custom < full custom, roughly in that order.
- Number of cabinet cases — more cases (tall pantries, corner units) raise the total even at the same finish level.
- Door style & finish — painted MDF vs. stained solid wood, slab vs. shaker vs. raised panel.
- Hardware — soft-close hinges/slides, pull-outs, and organizers add per-cabinet cost.
- Modifications — non-standard heights/widths carry an upcharge on most lines.
- Framed vs. frameless — frameless requires end panels that add cost.

What's the difference between RTA, semi-custom, and custom cabinets?
RTA (ready-to-assemble) ships flat-packed and is the fastest, most budget-friendly option. Semi-custom is pre-built like custom cabinetry but comes from a curated set of sizes, styles, and finishes — it’s the most common choice for a full remodel. Full custom is built to your exact dimensions and finish, at a higher cost and longer lead time. Most homeowners land on semi-custom unless their space is non-standard or they want a specific wood and finish.
Is cabinet refacing cheaper than replacing?
Sometimes, but not always by as much as it sounds. Refacing keeps your existing boxes and replaces doors, drawer fronts, and hardware, which saves money mainly when your current boxes are solid and the layout isn’t changing. Once labor is factored in, reface and replace quotes can land close together, so we give you both numbers before you decide.
Are plywood cabinet boxes better than MDF?
For the box (the structure itself), plywood is generally more moisture- and warp-resistant. For painted doors, high-quality MDF is often the better choice because it doesn’t expand or contract the way wood can, giving a smoother, more consistent painted finish. Neither is automatically “cheap” — it depends on the grade and the brand.
