Bertch Cabinets

A family barn in Waterloo, Iowa. A table saw. Five people. That was 1977. Today, Bertch operates 750,000+ square feet of manufacturing space with 600+ associates, producing 100% American-made kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities from six hardwood species. Every wood component is produced and assembled on-site. Now part of the MasterBrand Family, Bertch remains a distinct Midwestern brand with its own factory and delivery fleet.

Totally Integrated Manufacturing

Everything Built Under One Roof

Most cabinet companies outsource at least some components. Bertch produces all wood parts, finishes, and assemblies in-house at their Iowa facilities. That level of vertical integration is rare in the industry.

In-House From Start to Finish

Lumber arrives at one end of the 750,000 sq ft facility. Finished, assembled cabinets roll out the other end onto Bertch’s own trucks. No outsourced components, no third-party finishing lines.

Dovetail Drawer Boxes

5/8-inch solid hardwood on all four sides with dovetailed corners. Captive 1/4-inch plywood bottoms. Undermount self-closing soft-close drawer guides with easy-release mechanism. Available in all kitchen lines.

1/2" Plywood Sides

Cabinet sides are 1/2-inch plywood, not particleboard. Concealed self-close soft-close hinges come standard. Cabinet floors use 1/2-inch furniture board core plywood.

6 Hardwood Species

Alder, birch, cherry, hickory, maple, and red oak. Each species brings distinct grain character. Premium finishes and glazes require factory application for quality control.

Own Delivery Fleet

Made in America. No tariff exposure. Bertch’s 600+ associates produce cabinets at facilities in Waterloo, Jesup, and Oelwein, Iowa, then ship them on Bertch’s own air-ride delivery fleet directly to your local dealer. No outsourcing, no third-party trucking.

Environmental Commitment

Bertch has used cogeneration at their Iowa facilities for over 30 years, converting their own sawdust into heat and electricity. Associates have planted thousands of trees since 1977 and continue tree-planting programs annually. Limited outsourcing combined with backhauling materials reduces transport impact, and eco-friendly finishing technology minimises emissions across all six wood species.
